At Bryn Derwen we have developed a Dementia Strategy and we make sure that we provide individually tailored support for our residents. Our dementia strategy includes staff training, personally tailored activities and promotes a culture where people living with dementia are encouraged to live active and meaningful lives with the right support from staff teams, family, friends and loved ones.
In Bryn Derwen we have pet therapy, doll and sensory sessions, along with offering montisorri based activities such as light household chores and sorting boxes.
We have excellent relationships with our friends in the community and they regularly support the activity programme, themed parties, and charity events that we run.

Long Term Care
Respite
Day Care
Bryn Derwen provides 24 hour residential care for elderly people who are diagnosed with Dementia. Our Dementia care is provided by appropriately qualified and dedicated teams in an environment personally adapted to each Resident’s needs. A person centred care plan is devised for each individual resident which reflects their care needs, interests and covers both physical and emotional abilities.
Our staff members are provided with on-going opportunities for learning and development to ensure that the care they give is not only the kindest possible, but is also delivered from a sound, professional knowledge base.
Trial stays
We believe that trial stays provide an excellent opportunity to try potential long term care placement and help you in the process of making a very important decision.
We recommend an initial month's stay. This gives you a chance to get to know everyone and to experience the comfortable and friendly environment.
At Bryn Derwen we also provide Respite care for people who may require short or a temporary stay. There are different types of respite care available depending on your care needs and the length of stay can vary from a few days to several weeks or months.
The residents in Bryn Derwen receive professional care delivered with respect, in a friendly, homely and compassionate environment, where quality of life is imperative.
Daily Activities
We have a range of individually tailored activities for those who choose to participate. We employ a full time Activities Coordinator, an Activities Assistant, and as well as this, all staff are encouraged and supported to participate with the activity programme in order to support the residents to pursue their hobbies and interests.

Bryn Derwen provides comprehensive Day Care. Normal Day Care hours are from 9am to 5pm seven days a week. However, arrangements can be made if clients need to come in earlier or leave later.
The Basic Day Care Package includes:

We own a mini bus and our residents have the opportunity to go on daily trips to Llandudno, Conwy, the Local Promenades as well as join in organised picnics and scenic drives around North Wales.
